Exploring Rurality was founded two years ago by ICRPS alumnae Kjersti Nordskog and Katja Cappelen as a place for professional discussion, exchange of ideas and community building within the ICRPS network. In November 2012 Exploring Rurality was lucky to have ICRPS alumni Eric Marr from Canada join the editor team. Now it is our pleasure to introduce you to the newest member of the Exploring Rurality editor team: Bernat Vilarasau Alsina.
Bernat is known to many of you as the warm, open and confident Catalan with passion for rural service design and great personal experience in rural development and local, organic food production. Bernat participated in the 2010 Summer Institute in Oregon and again the following year in Norway.
We are very happy to have Bernat join the team of editors and are looking forward to see what ideas and thoughts he has for the blog in the weeks and months to come. You can read more about Bernat´s background under “About the editors”.
Comparative rural policy studies are an important part of the ICRPS “dna” and the annual change of location between Europe and North America underlines this fact. The Exploring Rurality team wishes to mirror this through a team consisting of team members from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean and hope to expand the team additionally this year. If you are a North American ICRPS alumnus with passion for rural prosperity, interest in social media and a desire to stay closer connected to the ICRPS network, we would love to hear from you! Please leave a comment here or send an email to exploringrurality@gmail.com
Being part of the Exploring Rurality team is a voluntary task and we all put our free time into the development and maintenance of this blog. Therefore we are dependent on ICRPS staff and alumni contributing on the content side with blog post ideas, articles, research papers etc. connected to the core themes of ICRPS. You will find more information about how to contribute HERE.
Once again, we are very happy that Bernat has decided to join the team and are looking forward to cooperating with him!
Best regards, Eric, Kjersti and Katja
