The ICRPS summer institute for 2014 will be held in Toluca, Mexico June 29-July 13, 2014 and hosted by the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Mexico. Toluca is located one hour from Mexico City. Beautiful natural settings surround this city, including one of the country´s highest volcano, “Nevado de Toluca”, and “La Marquesa”, a park in the mountains. The surrounding plain is fertile, producing grain, fruits and vegetables. The city has become increasingly industrialized, and has food processing, beverage and automobile assembly plants; it has also experienced growth as an outlying suburb of Mexico City.

ICRPS 2014 aims to create a concept about the rural policies and its role in the
economy. The institute hope to give students and researches the opportunity
to know how OECD countries and particularly Mexico faces its rural
production. The students will leave the institute with a better understanding and
knowledge about differences between rural policies in Mexico, Latin America,
Europe or North America and how to see critical issues and rural problems from
diverse points of view.
